Another new month has snuck up on us and it’s time for the June challenge at AAA Birthday. This month we want to see cards using vellum. Hop on over to the AAA Birthday blog and see what the Design Team have created and a special welcome to Izzy Scrap as this months guest designer…she has created a STUNNING card this month to inspire you.

pOST BOX
- Stamp post box image onto alcohol marker friendly cardstock. Colour with alcohol markers.
- Stamp “Post” word on coloured postbox and the “flag” on a spare piece of cardstock with Versamark ink and sprinkle red embossing powder and tap off excess. Set with heatgun.
- Fussy cut postbox (this comes in two pieces and I adhered them together with foam tape to add some dimension) and cut around embossed flag. Adhere flag to post box with liquid glue.
Envelopes
- Stamp envelope outline twice onto coloured and white vellum with Staz-on black ink.
- Fussy cut and fold to create envelope (there is a matching die set but I didn’t purchase it). It did take a few extra goes to get my envelopes to a stage where I was happy with them. I closed one envelope completely and left the other open to slip the happy birthday note into.
- Add crystal heart to closed envelope.
Note
- Stamp Happy Birthday onto coloured vellum with Versamark ink, sprinkle with fine detail embossing powder and tap excess off. Set with Heat Gun.
- Adhere inside envelope with small piece of double sided tape on back of note.
Background
- Cut a piece of white vellum down about 1/4″ smaller than card base.
- Stamp flower bouquet three times onto vellum with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I laid the finished elements onto vellum so I knew where to stamp the flowers.
- Turn vellum over and colour bouquet with alcohol inks on the back of the vellum. As the vellum mutes the colours a bit you can go darker with your chosen colours.
- Adhere small crystals to centres of daisies. I used red to pick up on the red on the postbox.
Finishing
- Adhere postbox and envelopes to vellum background.
- Adhere vellum to card base using double sided tape behind the elements only so it doesn’t show.
I hope you’ve been inspired to join us in this months challenge.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
